LIFE AFTER LYNCHBURG
There comes a time in every athlete's life that their sports career comes to end. Regardless of whether it was by choice, a career-ending injury, or the end of an athlete's eligibility, this life changing experience can evoke new emotions. One may feel emotions such as excitement and hope, but also fear and sadness. It is very likely that retired student athletes may struggle to find a new purpose or identity. For many of them, their sport was the center of their lives up until this time. Many feel as if they are stranded without sports.
Know that these emotions are extremely common. It is good to remind yourself that your sport does not define you. You as a human being are so much more than athletics.
